According to SafeWise's 10th Annual review, Fairview was ranked the 22nd safest city in Oklahoma in 2024.  Our full-time Fairview Police Department and Major County Sheriff’s Department are the primary contributors to Fairview's boast of a lower crime rate compared to many areas.  The 24-hour presence of the Major County EMS and the Fairview Fire Department offer comfort and reassurance to our residence that our community is well-cared for and protected.

With over 40 years in serving students and industries in Fairview and Major County, Northwest Technology Center is a Gold Star Award School which is industry-focused, student-centered, and performance-driven. The practical Nursing Program and Biomedical Sciences Program (STEM) demonstrates NWTC’s investment in training students for high-tech jobs and diversifying the economy through the infusion of technology, science, and mathematics. Local companies partner with Northwest Technology Center to develop business and industry training programs that meet exact specifications at little to no cost for the company.

Numerous colleges and universities are located within 100 miles of Fairview, among which are NW Oklahoma State University, SW Oklahoma State University, Northern Oklahoma College, University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University and University of Oklahoma.
We are always working toward a healthier community and to that end, Fairview offers Life Fitness Center, regular wellness challenges, educational seminars, an annual Run 4 Your Life 5K and, our latest addition, the walking trails at Specht Park. We also have readily available open spaces for joggers, bicyclists, star-gazers, and hunters as well as easy access to hiking at Gloss Mountain State Park and water sports at Canton Lake, home of the annual Walleye fishing tournament.

Fairview is home to eight family parks and our Fairview Aquatic Center features an Olympic sized pool, two diving boards, slides, and a splash pad with water spouts and splashing buckets for our smallest guests.

While many smaller communities are having to close their local hospitals due to lack of resources, we are proud to say our medical center is growing with the current construction of an enlarged physical therapy department and the addition of a cardiac rehabilitation unit.  FRMC is pleased to serve not only Fairview area residents, but patients from surrounding communities.
